Do you know why we started? Read our story to find out
Lack of entrepreneurial experiences and platforms to execute entrepreneurial ideas amongst women in most remote parts of Africa is still a problem to date. Despite having 54 different countries, many African communities are still trapped in chains of poverty that have been in existence since colonialism. Women have been the most negatively affected group when it comes to entrepreneurial activities on the continent. Women in most remote parts of Africa are often underlooked when it comes to entrepreneurship activities and opportunities. On the other hand, Education in rural areas has mostly been theoretical due to the shortage of learning resources to carry out practicals in subjects. A UNESCO study in 2012 showed that the number of primary-aged children not attending school in Africa accounted for more than half of the global total. The learning environments in rural schools do not meet the government’s required standards due to the underlooked learning environments in the most remote parts of Africa. With that in mind, two young Africans who grew up in different regions met and discovered the common interests they share about Africa. They discovered that they lived in similar communities and wished to contribute positively by starting All in You, an organization that would address poverty and unconducive learning environments in their respective communities and Africa at large.
Problem statement
Despite having many entrepreneurs, Africa still struggles economically for many centuries now. We realize that women are the family pillars and for the African context, the most involved group when it comes to entrepreneurial activities. Lack of entrepreneurial experiences and platforms have made entrepreneurship less efficient towards addressing poverty on the continent. Lack of organizations that provide platforms to execute entrepreneurial skills is still a big problem. Education in rural areas has mostly been theoretical due to the shortage of learning resources to carry out practicals in subjects. The learning environments in rural schools do not meet the government’s required standards due to the underlooked learning environments in the most remote parts of Africa. For example, we still have children learning under trees even up to today and this has slowed down progress towards the development of Africa. With that in mind, there is still a need to advocate for equal access to basic educational resources on the African continent.
Our Objectives
Our philosophy
At All in You, we believe that knowledge must match with actions. African women have entrepreneurial skills and knowledge however lack of channels to implement it drags them into a chain of poverty. Through empowering women with entrepreneurial knowledge and providing platforms for actions, Africa will be liberated from the long-existing poverty. We believe in entrepreneurship as the weapon to break chains of poverty, inequality, and ignorance that have prevented our continent from being where it ought to be. We believe in the abilities of children in Africa to transform and create generational impacts. We will stand for a better education for each child who lives in the most remote part of Africa. We believe in you and as always, we will stand together for Africa.
